When I was a boy headlight lenses on cars were always made of glass. As time has gone on the headlight has evolved considerably both in looks and performance. Most headlights these days have a clear plastic lens. These allow manufacturers to really showcase some of the amazing looking light units they create but there is a downside.
The plastic lenses can, over time, fade, become discoloured and start to turn opaque. The net result is that the effectiveness of the headlight is impaired but the front of the car also starts to look unsightly.
